Is ChatGPT Plus worth it?

ChatGPT Plus remains the default recommendation for most people who use AI more than a few times a week. At $20 per month, it unlocks priority access to GPT-4o and GPT-5.4, higher message limits, image input, web browsing, and early access to newer features as OpenAI ships them.

For casual users, the free tier is usually enough. But if you rely on ChatGPT for writing, coding, or research, the Plus plan removes the friction of usage caps and slower response times during peak hours.

The main downside is pricing predictability. OpenAI now offers an annual plan at $199.99, but power users may still hit message limits on the busiest days.
