Anthropic ships Claude Opus 4.8 and Sonnet 4.6

Anthropic has released Claude Opus 4.8 and Claude Sonnet 4.6, replacing the Claude 3 Opus and Claude 3.5 Sonnet lineups for most use cases. Opus 4.8 is priced at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens, while Sonnet 4.6 is $3 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens. Both models retain the 200K context window and add improved vision and tool-use reliability. Claude Pro subscribers get access to Sonnet 4.6 immediately; Opus 4.8 requires higher-tier plans or API access.
