On July 6, xAI officially rebranded to SpaceXAI, unifying with the SpaceX and Grok brand. On July 8, SpaceXAI released Grok 4.5 based on the V9 foundational architecture, co-trained with Cursor. Priced at $2/$6 per million tokens, it requires only 4.2x the tokens of Opus 4.8 to complete tasks. Musk claims performance approaches or surpasses Opus, though no independent third-party verification exists yet. xAI plans monthly model releases until Grok 5.
