ByteDance Volcano Engine Doubao Token Usage Surpasses 120 Trillion

On April 2, 2026, Volcano Engine President Tan Dai announced at the Force Link AI Innovation Roadshow that Doubao's daily token usage has surpassed 120 trillion. This figure has doubled in the past three months and represents approximately a 1,000-fold increase since Doubao launched in May 2024. Volcano Engine has become the largest public cloud LLM platform in China by API call volume, with approximately 46.4% market share — nearly matching the combined total of the second and third-ranked platforms.
