Google Gemini Pro models no longer free
Free tier loses access to Pro-class models; Flash remains free.
As of April 1, Google removed free-tier access to Gemini Pro models, including Gemini 1.5 Pro and the newer Gemini 3.1 Pro. Free users now default to Flash variants, while Pro models require a Gemini Advanced subscription. Google says the move lets it reserve Pro capacity for paying subscribers and reduces peak-hour degradation. Gemini Advanced remains $19.99 per month and includes 2 TB of Google One storage.
